As we meditated

And as we meditated the rain came

We heard the swoosh of morning monsoon shower outside

and the patter of stray drops on glass

and from behind closed eyes I saw a figure with a round belly and a wide smile

in the corner of the room he sat, looking with compassion on us

and I remembered gratitude and love

and the rain washed away dust and resentment and fear

the gong sounded, the rain stopped

and we left full of sunshine
